Mark A. Chapman
Mark Chapman is a partner in the New York office. Mark’s practice focuses primarily on patent infringement and related litigation, but also includes opinions, licensing and transactions. Mark has experience with all phases of U.S. patent infringement litigation, including fact and expert discovery, Markman and motion practice, trial and appeal, as well as ITC proceedings. Mark has also coordinated and supported foreign patent litigation and related proceedings, including trials and appeals, with local counsel in Canada and several European countries, including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, France and Italy. Mark’s experience has involved a wide variety of technologies, including coronary stents, dental floss, endodontic instruments, high-throughput experimentation, imaging technology, industrial combustion burners, lottery computer systems, mass spectrometers, optical fiber, telecommunications systems, and wrist-watch designs. Mark’s technical background is in engineering physics.
Prior to joining Kenyon & Kenyon, Mark practiced transactional corporate and securities law at a top New York law firm. Prior to that, Mark served as a law clerk to the Honorable Mr. Justice John C. Major of the Supreme Court of Canada in Ottawa. Mark also worked as an articling student at top corporate and intellectual property law firms in Toronto after graduating from McGill law school in Montreal.
