Marcia H. Sundeen is Chair of the Firm’s International Trade Practice Group. She has over 25 years of experience litigating a wide variety of intellectual property disputes in both U.S. District Courts and the International Trade Commission (ITC). She has litigated cases involving sucralose, rubber antidegradants, laminated flooring, biomedical devices, pharmaceuticals, biochromatographic processes, lighters, semiconductor process technology, chemical processes, telecommunication chips, textile processes, footwear.  Recently, she was lead counsel for Sinorgchem Co., Shandong, in Certain Rubber Antidegradants, Inv. No. 337-TA-533 and Certain Rubber Antidegradants and Antidegradant Intermediates, Inv. No. 337-TA-652, and Hebei Sukerui Science and technology Co., in Certain Sucralose, Inv. No. 337-TA-604. She is also a past President of the ITC Trial Lawyers Association and has litigated extensively before the ITC. Prior to entering private practice, Marcia was an attorney at the ITC.

In addition to litigation, Ms. Sundeen has counseled clients on various intellectual property matters, including advising clients on global patent enforcement and prosecution strategies and representing clients before the U.S. Customs Service and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.  She has coordinated intellectual property and Food and Drug strategies for biomedical devices and pharmaceuticals and has lectured on Hatch-Waxman issues.

Ms. Sundeen has also published articles, including The Willfulness Issue in Patent Litigation, Patent Litigation 2003 and 2004, Practicing Law Institute; and U.S. Customs Service Issues Gray Market Import Regulations with Jessica Gottesman, 337 Reporter, Vol. XVI, No. 2 (Fall 1999).  She has also co-authored technical publications, including Tse Lok Ho, Marcia Henninger, George A. Duval et al, 2009 Edition.  Chambers USA 2010 named Marcia Sundeen as a leader in the field of IP Section 337 law.
